  • Wood, Banani were retained as Prime Consulting Firm to manage the engineering team and provide electrical engineering for all base building upgrades.

  • Total value of base building electrical/mechanical retrofit - $2,000,000.00 including $1,500,000.00 electrical.

  • Building received Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Award as Best Building Modernization Project - 1992.

  • Design included provisions for 2nd tower and expansion of below grade parking facility.

  • Incorporated modern energy efficient technology and systems in compliance with Ashrae/IES 90.1 Standards.
  • Tenant fitup of owner occupied areas of building included in construction contract.
  • Construction value $1,200,000.00 - completed in 1993.

  • The project sequentially tendered, 14 blocks of floors to accommodate tenant available swing space.
  • Incorporated upgrade of the floor branch wiring to accommodate the modern office space requirements.
  • Design of data cable riser including conduit and IBM cabling system.
    Fit-up of space required to house - the Treasury Department, Department of Finance and the Public Service Commission.
  • Completed over a 3 year period 1984 to 1987.

  • Retrofit and modernization of 20 storey high rise building with new integrated 2 stage fire alarm and voice communication system.
  • Separate fire life safety system project required - detailed planning of construction, implementation, and system commissioning.
  • Construction sequence to maintain life safety system operation of an occupied building. State of the art system utilizing distributed processing techniques and intelligent devices.
  • Construction value $600,000.00 - completed in1995.

  • New 2 stage integrated fire alarm and voice communications system; including integration with new fire protection and smoke control.
  • New Central Control Facility at the Main Plaza Level.
  • Phased construction over four years while building was partially occupied. Floors were re-occupied after completion on a floor by floor basis.
  • Construction value $5,000,000.00, (Electrical) including $2,000,000.00 Fire Alarm.
  • Final commissioning in 1991.

  • Main level retail facility.
  • Design included in power services and life safety system provisions for 3rd tower and expansion of retail facility.
  • Incorporated modern energy efficient technology, lighting systems, motor control and building management.
  • Contract value $3,000,000.00, (Electrical) includes $300,000.00 - Fire Alarm System. Completed in 1991.
  • Ontario Hydro's Energy Efficient Award of Distinction for Commercial and Industrial Building Design, 1991.

Telesat Corporate Headquarters

  • Corporate offices and operations centre approximately 18,580m2.
  • Architectural design consisted of three buildings interconnected by a common 3 storey atrium place.
  • Project included smoke control measures with site commissioning and performance verification.
  • Original design by Mulvey & Banani, Toronto; services during construction by Wood, Banani & Associates Ltd.
  • Construction value $45,000,000.00, includes $200,000.00 - Fire Alarm System, completed in 1992.
